Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation as well as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since the age of nine. Her ability in this area allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Then she moved to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she worked as an anchor for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5pm, then a news reporter on English for 9 pm, the news anchor was on until 10 pm, and then returned to the Spanish channel. She was also often asked to serve as an anchor for weather and sports. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on other responsibilities. She wrote pieces on The NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and anchored it. She was hired as anchor for sports for Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. She served in the same role on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents were born in Veracruz Mexico. At some point they were moved into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She's younger than her sister. There is an older sibling. In the course of a few months, her father split from her mother and she was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. At the time of her senior year in high school and yet with a clear idea what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta visited at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she wanted. When she finished her high school education, she chose to attend the University to pursue a degree in media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a member. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was deeply moved by his passion for journalism.
